At Tanis J Events we are trained and experienced professionals who take planning very seriously. We balance the creative aspects with the practical applications of contract negotiation, budget control, and vendor selection to ensure the best event possible. We are meticulous with the details and strive to keep everyone organized and relaxed throughout the entire process.
Do you have any special training?
Ms. Tanis Jackson, the owner, is a designated bridal consultant who has completed the Association of Bridal Consultants (ABC) course and is a member in good standing. She also has a certificate in Event Marketing and in Public Relations. She has many years of event experience.
Is it expensive to hire a planner from you?
Tanis J Events has extremely flexible pricing to accommodate any type of budget from our "$99 Getting Started Package" to the "Ultimate Package." Our unique pricing structure is not based on a percentage of your budget, but rather on the amount of work involved. We take into account the location, number of guests, how many people are required to work at the event, number of vendors and the total amount of set up. All pricing quotes are customized for the client.
Can Tanis J Events advise on etiquette issues?
Our professional staff works with all denominations, cultures and faith groups on all aspects of etiquette. We are thoroughly trained to take on the most challenging etiquette issue including invitation wordings and wedding party dilemnas, whether your event is an extremely formal white tie wedding or a casual beach party.
How involved will you be?
Very simply we are as involved as you want us to be. During our introductory consultation we will ask you to complete a questionnaire which involves, budget, guest count, venue and vendor selection, the wedding party, and creative aspects such as flowers, decor, and setup. From there you decide what level of involvement you want and which areas you would like us to focus on. It is extremely important to us that our clients feel that their wedding really is their vision. We are just there to help them get from the visualization to the actualization on time, on budget, and with as little stress as possible.
Will our wedding look like everyone else's?
Our motto "Where modern ideas meet old fashioned service" didn't develop by accident. Whether you want a traditional formal wedding or something completely out of the ordinary, we are prepared to work with you to develop unique concepts or stick with the classics. Your "something old or something new" will be developed in accordance with what you want.
If we hire a planner will they 'take over' our wedding?
At Tanis J Events we don't want to recreate the same wedding over and over again and we don't want to plan a wedding the couple is not happy with no matter how lovely it is. It is extremely important to us that our clients feel that their wedding really is their vision. We are just there to help them get from the visualization to the actualization, on time, on budget and with as little stress as possible.
How do you handle wedding day or event emergencies?
We believe that preparation is key. All of our Day-of, Full Service, and Ultimate wedding packages include on average 10 hours of planning dedicated to the aisle order, floor plan, timelines, vendor contact list, and wedding party contact list. This allows us to amend problems without having to contact you on your big day. We also contact the vendors a week prior to let them know that they should contact us directly allowing you to relax. Last but not least we bring an emergency kit with us that includes tools for minor repairs, beauty products for last minute fix ups, and even a garter belt should you forget yours.
